Mergers and Acquisitions in the Chemical Industry

The high level of activity in chemical industry M&As is set to continue. The value of deals (excluding pharma) rose from $10bn in 1995 to $37bn in 1998 and will approach $50bn in 1999. There are a significant number of major deals in the pipeline moving towards completion and much unfinished business. This report examines the factors causing M&A activity and analyses all the recent deals plus deals in progress and potential M&A activity for the future.
